Three rums that I would have tasted in three nights, so their profile is exuberant &#8230; In short, I made an article on rums <strong>White high esters rums<\/strong> (rums, not esters eh) and it stinks in my living room \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, what&rsquo;s a High Esters rum? Not easy as a question because it involves a lot of things, but basically it will be a rum whose aromatic profile is particularly <strong>rich<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I don&rsquo;t particularly want to explain the how and the why, so I refer you on the excellent article of <a aria-label=\"Nico  (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/coeur-de-chauffe.blogspot.com\/2017\/02\/le-rhum-grand-arome-ou-high-ester.html\" target=\"_blank\">Nico <\/a>and to the article on the Jamaican rums of <a aria-label=\"Cyril (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/durhum.com\/le-rhum-jamaicain\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cyril<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These two articles will explain to you that these aromatic high profiles come from a long <strong>fermentation <\/strong>and the addition of \u00ab\u00a0<strong>vinasse<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb (distillation residues and other spirits) in order to bring out the most non-alcoholic components (whose components aromatics) after distillation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These components are captured by the <strong>master distiller<\/strong>, of course, his role is predominant ! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here for the \u00ab\u00a0technical\u00a0\u00bb part &#8230; basically, remember that a rum high esters will be above all a rums very <strong>exuberant<\/strong>. These spirits coming mainly from Jamaica, La R\u00e9union and Martinique (1 distillery) among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the menu tonight, a <strong>Hampden <\/strong>&lt;> H, a <strong>Savanna <\/strong>Lontan and a <strong>Gallion <\/strong>great aroma &#8230; Come on, it looks rough, courage and honnor !! \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hampden &lt;&gt; H<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m55412_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m55412_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7588\" width=\"119\" height=\"157\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Special bottling for <strong>Whisky Live<\/strong>, this Hampden &lt;> H from our friends <strong>Habitation Velier<\/strong> is a rum \u00ab\u00a0high esters\u00a0\u00bb whose ester level is just below the <strong>HLCF <\/strong>for those who know (960gr \/ hlpa). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So basically, that hits hard holding 66%, this white rum is not to put in all hands &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nose<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patex <strong>glue<\/strong>, <strong>solvent<\/strong>, well-cooked fruit, <strong>olives <\/strong>in brine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s <strong>salty<\/strong>, already <strong>smoked <\/strong>and <strong>animal <\/strong>&#8230; That would make it think limit to a piece of raw meat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes I know, it&rsquo;s special but that&rsquo;s how I see it Otherwise for the rest, not much else in fact &#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">the 66% are strangely unobtrusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Palate<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The big green <strong>olive<\/strong>, still <strong>pickled <\/strong>and significantly less <strong>fruit <\/strong>than I expected &#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand it is really drinkable, and that I didn&rsquo;t expect even less! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 66% really don&rsquo;t hit, sweet and creamy . There are traces of nuts and dark oliva on the length crazy enough this thing &#8230; Really bluffing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A light sweetness is also part and adds a greedy touch to the tasting..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Price<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">+-60\u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was expecting something diabolical and undrinkable, I am quite surprised at the result even if I will not see myself with 70cl at home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s nice, but it&rsquo;s still something difficult to enjoy quiet &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Score<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">79\/100<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Savanna Lontan (lmdw)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m51945.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m51945.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7591\" width=\"120\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m51945.jpg 675w, https:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m51945-480x640.jpg 480w, https:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/m51945-595x793.jpg 595w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 120px) 100vw, 120px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another exclusivity for La maison du Whisky, who definitely like to offer tips that take off the teeth, this <strong>Savanna <\/strong>is a <strong>great aroma<\/strong> whose fermentation time is particularly long &#8230; 15 days! (where AOC farm rums ferment 72 hours max) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Titling 57%, it is already more civilized than the other wild described above &#8230; Limited to 1000 bottles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nose<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Eurk <\/strong>&#8230;. green <strong>olive<\/strong>, <strong>anchovy tapenade<\/strong>, brine, bitterness and <strong>patex <\/strong>&#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Really, not engaging this thing. Let&rsquo;s leave him some time to see if it changes or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time leaves us a creamier nose but still dominated by this aspect brine \/ glue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fruits ? I am still looking for it and I find it hard to detect more things than <strong>lemon <\/strong>actually does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Palate<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Re <strong>eeuuurk<\/strong>, brandy of pickled green olives &#8230; it&rsquo;s just an infamous thing! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I retry a second sip &#8230;. arf, not really that&rsquo;s all wrong. We find more sweetness in the second mouth but it is good too green olives \/ anchovies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if the lemon confit is not far, it&rsquo;s anything but pleasant. The 57% are very well integrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Price<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">+-50\u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I do not understand that we dare to bottle things like that, really for me there is no pleasure in it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certainly it is a UFO, but frankly I find myself very stupid with the 68 cl that I remain at once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some loved it, personally I do not understand the interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Score<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">30\/100<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Latitude Grand Ar\u00f4me de la Baie du Gallion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last find of our friend Nico, this great aroma is the only available in Martinique and comes from the candy of the Great Gallion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is the result of the distillation of molasses with vinasse &#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nose<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Very ripe <strong>fruit<\/strong>, green <strong>olives<\/strong>, solvent and a sweet side &#8230; The fruit turns candied fruits, kind big <strong>amarena <\/strong>cherry &#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The nose is very rich, very generous and <strong>liquoreux<\/strong>. The austere side of the first nose, animal \/ smoked, pickled, disappears quickly enough to leave this sweet aspect, with limit on one side <strong>amareto <\/strong>and its almonds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Very very rich &#8230; <strong>Too much?<\/strong> Probably for me, I am less in love with these kind of rums but it is interesting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alcohol is super round, it&rsquo;s pretty well integrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Palate<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More vivid, enough cherry brandy I would say &#8230; It&rsquo;s very fruity, sweet but with the peps of 60 watts <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The olive is always there and add a bitter, iodized layer to this fruit basket with cane syrup &#8230; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s amazing this sweetness, it adds a layer of fat to this mixture of exotic fruits \/ olives. So the mouth is pretty sweet for a 60% alcohol <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Very good but somewhat disgusting in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prix<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">48.9\u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interesting but not my love&#8230; After, for a rum high esters, I find it much less wild than I thought, limit pleasure but it&rsquo;s still a pretty hard thing to taste \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Score<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">79\/100<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I really Don&rsquo;t understand why these rums are bottled \u2026 it&rsquo;s interresting but I think those juice are made for cocktail or blends, not for drinking them pure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But it seems a lot of people like these profil and there is some other well kown white High Esters Rums but I&rsquo;ve not the courage to taste them all \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">* Thanks Daniele Biondi for the photo (Dunder)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>today I propose to you three white rum tasting.
