C\u2019est gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 nos camarades de Grape of the Art que nous d\u00e9couvrons ce jour le Domaine de Marquestau. Fond\u00e9 en 1945, ce domaine \u00e9tait \u00e0 l\u2019origine une exploitation viticole et agricole typiquement gasconne, avec des produits vendus en circuit local. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 2013, quatre amis \u2014 un vigneron passionn\u00e9, un coach de rugby, un matador et un amoureux de leur terroir \u2014 d\u00e9cident de reprendre le flambeau et de redonner vie \u00e0 ce domaine d\u2019armagnac situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Hontanx. Leur objectif ? Perp\u00e9tuer l\u2019h\u00e9ritage de Martial Darraba tout en faisant rayonner leur ch\u00e8re Gascogne. Simple sur le papier\u2026 mais avec beaucoup de c\u0153ur \u00e0 l\u2019ouvrage !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depuis, Marquestau<\/a> <\/strong>a bien grandi. Entre des armagnacs, une gamme de vins baptis\u00e9e \u00ab M \u00bb, et m\u00eame une cr\u00e9ation audacieuse nomm\u00e9e Clandestino \u2014 un spiritueux sur base d\u2019armagnac VSOP infus\u00e9 au sucre d\u2019agave bio et \u00e0 la vanille de Madagascar \u2014 la maison joue la carte aussi la modernit\u00e9 sans jamais trahir ses racines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, une autre bande d’amis, les mecs de Grape of the Art<\/a> d\u00e9barquent chez eux en octobre 2022 pour visiter le domaine, et pourquoi pas repartir avec quelques \u00e9chantillons…. Juin 2025, nous voici donc avec LE f\u00fbt qui aura retenu leur attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un mill\u00e9sime 1998, 100% Baco vieillit durant 25 ans chais humide et propos\u00e9 \u00e0 51.7% pour le German Armagnac Festival !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petite anecdote sympa : l\u2019Armagnac a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en dame-jeanne d\u00e8s septembre 2024 pour pr\u00e9server \u00e0 100 % ses ar\u00f4mes jusqu\u2019au Festival de l\u2019Armagnac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Assez concentr\u00e9, sur les fruits confits comme les abricots, pruneaux, dattes et une belle acidit\u00e9 pouvant \u00e9voquer des oranges sanguines, voir m\u00eame quelques fruits rouges, cassis etc…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Evidemment, un bois\u00e9 assez gourmand est de la partie, avec de belles notes de caramel, chocolat, vieux bois laqu\u00e9, toffee, cire de bougie, nougatine, tabac et un alcool qui me semble un chou\u00efa pr\u00e9sent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le profil est gourmand, fruit\u00e9 mais semble assez incisif, \u00e0 voir \u00e0 la d\u00e9gustation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bouche<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

La bouche est marqu\u00e9e par un bois\u00e9 assez gourmand, de la p\u00e2te d’amande, de la cire \u00e0 bois, de la bougie, des fruits secs, caramel, chocolat au lait, caf\u00e9 avec cette petite acidit\u00e9 qui revient comme au nez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les agrumes, les abricots, les raisins secs, les pruneaux, dattes et compagnie c\u00f4toient tout ce beau monde avec un alcool qui me semble l\u00e9g\u00e8rement trop pr\u00e9sent. Ce n’est pas une catastrophe, mais j’aurais pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 un profil l\u00e9g\u00e8rement moins cinglant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sympatique, mais pas un coup de foudre pour ma part, il a pas mal d’atouts mais n’arrive pas \u00e0 ma faire dire le \u00ab\u00a0waww\u00a0\u00bb qui me fera acheter la quille… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
