{"id":12189,"date":"2020-10-10T15:13:09","date_gmt":"2020-10-10T13:13:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/?p=12189"},"modified":"2020-10-10T16:30:41","modified_gmt":"2020-10-10T14:30:41","slug":"savanna-wild-island-collection-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/index.php\/2020\/10\/10\/savanna-wild-island-collection-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Savanna Wild Island Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">Savanna is back with a brand new collection and seems to have found a nice solution to the lack of trade fairs to promote this one, sending \u00ab\u00a0<strong>presskits<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb to a large panel of rum lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&rsquo;m not particularly always a fan of what they offer, often for a matter of personal taste in the end, I was delighted to see that they had included me in this operation, again a huge thank you to everyone. team therefore!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So here we are talking about the \u00ab\u00a0<strong>Wild Island<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb series which features island landscapes through <strong>4 rums<\/strong> with very different profiles from the distillery. It has a 57.6% content and has produced <strong>696 <\/strong>bottles of 50 cl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Nose<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first nose is very smooth and it gives us a <strong>rubber<\/strong> side \u00ab\u00a0as a Lib\u00e9ration\u00a0\u00bb as well as its share of <strong>citrus <\/strong>fruits and vanilla \u2026 and <strong>apple<\/strong> of course because the Calvados finish has shaped this rum well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also perceive beautiful <strong>orange <\/strong>notes, <strong>lemony<\/strong> on a fine <strong>chocolate<\/strong> woody. It&rsquo;s rather pleasant, fresh with some notes of menthol, elegant and delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I like !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Palate<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entry in the mouth is slightly <strong>acid<\/strong>, on citrus again, <strong>vanilla<\/strong>, <strong>spices<\/strong> and <strong>apple<\/strong> of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The woody note is present but does not interfere in any way, it has a fairly long finish on <strong>liquorice<\/strong>, <strong>menthol<\/strong>, chocolate and even this rubber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alcohol is particularly well integrated, it is very well done!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s really nice as rum \u2026 easy to access, elegant and with a nice woody, rather greedy, I like it a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span \u00ab&nbsp;Plage\u00bb \u2013 52,7%<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Always a single cask, but <strong>traditional <\/strong>this time, based on molasses and grading 52.7% after finishing in an <strong>armagnac <\/strong>barrel. 936 bottles are available. 2003 vintage, <strong>16 years<\/strong> old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Nose<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We feel directly that we are no longer on pure juice, clearly the face is turning to <strong>Barbados <\/strong>with a gourmet rum, <strong>caramelized<\/strong>, roasted and <strong>fruity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>fruits<\/strong> are very candied, very <strong>bold <\/strong>and the whole thing makes me think of a very vinous finish from <strong>foursquare <\/strong>in fact \u2026 Well, at the same time the finish here is <strong>armagnac<\/strong>, we are not far away \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, there are some more roasted, smoky, tobacco and chocolate notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Palate<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fat and greedy and once again, blindly I launch a <strong>Foursquare <\/strong>\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s oily, <strong>caramelized<\/strong>, fruity with traces of <strong>bananas<\/strong> and <strong>coconut<\/strong> as well as a <strong>chocolate<\/strong> topping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The finish is just as oily, on dark chocolate, <strong>orange<\/strong> and more marked <strong>oak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nice, a bit Barbados and therefore it suits me quite well even if we have the impression of having tasted it a good bunch of times \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span A grand ar\u00f4mes with a powerful <strong>66.5%<\/strong> and <strong>15 <\/strong>years of age! 420 bottles will have been produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Nose<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phew, there it is rougher with a large patex <strong>glue <\/strong>directly and the <strong>varnish<\/strong> which takes on the nose. Not unpleasant, but marked \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then we have <strong>strawberries<\/strong>, tropical <strong>fruits<\/strong> and a pickled tip, how could an HERR offer it to us for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alcohol is rather erased, I expected more violence in fact \u2026. Astonishing <strong>such integration<\/strong> !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Palate<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There directly, it burns slightly more but without this being catastrophic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>fraisa tagada<\/strong> on a beautiful <strong>caramelized <\/strong>layer very gourmet as well as a <strong>chocolate<\/strong> not too bitter land directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s really warm and gourmet, a very bold and slightly woody palate. The 15-year-olds didn&rsquo;t kill the deal, they just managed to make this great aroma very greedy and \u00ab\u00a0<strong>docile<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb &lsquo;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clearly not the daily dram par excellence, I admit being under the spell of this great aroma which, on paper, was not made for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We manage to erase the main concerns of others that I have tasted in the past, it is delicious and melted. Casked in <strong>2006<\/strong>, this rum distilled in 2005 aged for 13 years in ex cognac casks. 648 bottles for sale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Nose<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No doubts, we are of course on a great aroma, \u00ab\u00a0<em>it stinks of <strong>olive <\/strong>monseigneur<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fortunately, there is not only that and the fruity with <strong>pineapple <\/strong>and exotic <strong>fruits<\/strong> among others arrives in order to complicate the matter. A layer of <strong>caramel <\/strong>adds a nice dose of generosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>woody <\/strong>notes are also there with a hint of liquorice, <strong>chocolate <\/strong>and behind all this, a more \u00ab\u00a0acidulous candy\u00a0\u00bb side typical of great aromas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After this first very <strong>olive <\/strong>nose, the rum then gains a lot and is really pleasant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Palate<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mouth is more marked on the <strong>Haribo candy<\/strong> than what one could find on the nose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&rsquo;t particularly find too much olive in this version which is quite to please me even if at the end of the mouth a <strong>black olive<\/strong> is not far away. The <strong>fruits <\/strong>are on the other hand very present, the <strong>dry mango<\/strong> very greedy in particular as well as the <strong>roasted pineapple<\/strong>, I like it a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alcohol is rather well integrated and melted into the whole \u2026 no aggression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A great aroma that is quite accessible and delicious.
