And this destination doesn&rsquo;t seem illogical to me, as the rums of this island have been on the rise for the moment\u2026 something that I still don&rsquo;t explain, like Travelers in Belize in fact, but that is another story it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Distilled in 2005 from a column, this rum will have aged <strong>14 years<\/strong> on site and one last year at <strong>Ferrand <\/strong>as usual. Assembled from <strong>28 barrels<\/strong>, this bottling measures <strong>50.2%<\/strong> and contains an addition of sugar of the order of 4gr per liter of memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Produced by the only distillery on the island, <strong>South Pacific Distillery<\/strong>, I admit that I&rsquo;m not a big fan of these profiles, which I find either too Jamaican or too light \u2026 I have never been pleasantly surprised by one of their rums actually. It\u2019s very pastry, with a hint of coconut and quite good citrus including orange and lemon. You could say it smells like <strong>lemon pie<\/strong> \ud83c\udf4b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The alcohol is quite well integrated and despite the dosage, we still feel that there is pep in this juice, it is not to displease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wood is discreet and mainly marked by nuts like nuts and some more <strong>rubbery <\/strong>traces \u2026 like the athletics track so dear to my friend Etienne \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the rest ? Well it&rsquo;s nice \u2026 nothing waw but it&rsquo;s fun we say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Palate<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oily, really oily with markers of <strong>vanilla<\/strong>, meringue, nuts, menthol and a fine <strong>woody<\/strong> note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, it\u2019s a rather wise profile and the complexity is not extraordinary. The finish is more marked by wood and rubber, but falls quickly enough to say it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Far from being unpleasant, I would say that like all Fiji, it is not the sexiest rum of the year but it does the job properly .. a little too much actually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Price<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">79\u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Conclusion<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nice \u2026 but it is not with this one that I will fall in love with Fiji, but it goes well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So basically, it&rsquo;s good but a bit <strong>boring <\/strong>in fact. No wrong note, Plantation is going to sell whole pallets for sure, but it doesn&rsquo;t make me vibrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After, it is much better to put \u20ac 80 in there than in a millonario XO for example, we agree \u2026 But hey, I would put them more in the <strong>Clarendon <\/strong>in fact \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Note<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">81\/100<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>at the same time as a 2003 Clarendon of very good quality, Plantation offers us an equally successful label bottling from the Fiji Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
