{"id":10255,"date":"2020-03-01T16:53:30","date_gmt":"2020-03-01T15:53:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/?p=10255"},"modified":"2020-03-01T16:53:31","modified_gmt":"2020-03-01T15:53:31","slug":"port-mourant-2005","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/index.php\/2020\/03\/01\/port-mourant-2005\/","title":{"rendered":"Port Mourant 2005"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap wp-block-paragraph\">D\u00e9cid\u00e9ment, <strong>Port Mourant<\/strong> est \u00e0 la mode ces derniers temps sur le blog&#8230; Ayant toujours eu du mal avec ces profils tr\u00e8s amers venant de ce v\u00e9n\u00e9rable alambic, je suis assez heureux de vous parler de certaines r\u00e9f\u00e9rences ayant pour moi une classe et une \u00e9l\u00e9gance rare&#8230;.Port Mourant, c&rsquo;est tout de m\u00eame un sacr\u00e9 morceau d&rsquo;histoire !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette fois-ci, ce sera via une autre s\u00e9lection \u00ab\u00a0<strong>The Rum Mercenary<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb que je serai \u00e9pat\u00e9 avec ce mill\u00e9sime 2005, tr\u00e8s port\u00e9 sur les fruits et le toast\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un peu d&rsquo;histoire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je vous parle souvent de <strong>Port Mourant<\/strong>, mais d&rsquo;o\u00f9 cela provient-il ? Et pourquoi pas mal de rums de Guyana peuvent \u00eatre des Port Mourant m\u00eame quand il est indiqu\u00e9 Uitvlugt ou Diamond sur la bouteille ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si on se r\u00e9f\u00e8re \u00e0 l&rsquo;immense article de <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Barrel Aged Mind (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/barrel-aged-mind.blogspot.com\/p\/the-demerara-distilleries-20-french.html\" target=\"_blank\">Barrel Aged Mind<\/a>, on peut y lire que Port Mourant \u00e9tait une ancienne plantation et distillerie fond\u00e9e par  Stephen Mourant sur la c\u00f4te Est du fleuve <strong>Berbice <\/strong>au Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c9tabli en <strong>1732<\/strong>, cette plantation \u00e9tait principalement ax\u00e9e sur le <strong>coton <\/strong>en fait. La cr\u00e9ation m\u00eame de la distillerie n&rsquo;est pas claire, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que seul le coton \u00e9tait cultiv\u00e9 le long du fleuve Berbice et donc du coup, la distillation de m\u00e9lasse voisine \u00e9tait impossible.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les premi\u00e8res traces de r\u00e9coltes sucri\u00e8res \u00e0 Port Mourant ne dateraient qu&rsquo; entre 1813 et 1836. Selon <strong>Marko<\/strong>, la distillerie a donc d\u00fb \u00eatre \u00e9tablie durant cette p\u00e9riode m\u00eame si l&rsquo;alambic daterait de bien avant, et aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 rachet\u00e9 par Stephen Mourant \u00e0 une autre plantation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concernant l&rsquo;alambic, c&rsquo;\u00e9tait un Pot still double en bois venant de la r\u00e9gion, du Greenhart. La recette ayant souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9e suivant les go\u00fbts et humeurs du moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La distillerie Port Mourant aurait apparemment \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9saffect\u00e9e entre 1954 et 1958. L&rsquo;alambic aurait ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9mont\u00e9 et remont\u00e9 \u00e0 la distillerie voisine, Albion jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la fermeture de cette derni\u00e8re entre 1967 et 1969.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ensuite c&rsquo;est vers <strong>Uitvlugt<\/strong>, qui \u00e9tait la principale distillerie du groupe Booker, que l&rsquo;alambic fut d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 et ce jusqu&rsquo;en 1999 pour maintenant \u00eatre chez <strong>Diamond Distillery<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce qui explique donc pourquoi certains Utilvlugt, 1991 et 1997 notamment, soient des Port Mourant&#8230; Et des Diamond de 2003 ou 2005 pourraient bien entendu en \u00eatre aussi m\u00eame si cela n&rsquo;est \u00e9videmment pas automatique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les principaux marks \u00ab\u00a0officiels\u00a0\u00bb de cet alambic sont <strong>PM<\/strong>, <strong>MPM<\/strong>, <strong>UPM<\/strong> &#8230; m\u00eames si d&rsquo;autre comme GM sont utilis\u00e9s par le brokers en Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donc voil\u00e0, bien entendu il ne s&rsquo;agit ici que d&rsquo;un l\u00e9ger r\u00e9sum\u00e9 de l&rsquo;\u00e9norme travail de <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Marco Freyer (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\" href=\"https:\/\/barrel-aged-mind.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marco Freyer<\/a><\/strong>, je n&rsquo;ai \u00e9videmment pas la pr\u00e9tention d&rsquo;avoir fait quoi que ce soit hormis retranscrire \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Port Mourant 2005<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Distill\u00e9 donc en <strong>2005 <\/strong>chez Albion&#8230;. non je d\u00e9conne, je voulais juste voir qui suivait un peu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je disais donc, distill\u00e9 en 2005 chez <strong>Diamond Distillery<\/strong> avec l&rsquo;alambic Port Mourant, ce rhum titre <strong>48.5<\/strong>% et a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 et mis en bouteille par <strong>The Rum Mercenary<\/strong> en 2018. Celui-ci est donc \u00e2g\u00e9 donc de <strong>13 ans<\/strong> en Europe probablement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aucune mention du nombre de bouteilles ou encore du marks. Tr\u00e8s beau nez !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bouche<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En bouche c\u2019est tr\u00e8s <strong>doux<\/strong>, <strong>fruit\u00e9<\/strong>, <strong>p\u00e2tissier <\/strong>malgr\u00e9 cette amertume dont je suis moins fan plus pr\u00e9sente que sur le 2003 de <a href=\"http:\/\/leblogaroger.eu\/index.php\/2019\/06\/05\/port-mourant-2003-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"masam  (s\u2019ouvre dans un nouvel onglet)\">masam <\/a>par exemple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le <strong>bois\u00e9 <\/strong>est pr\u00e9sent aussi avec une touche de <strong>tabac <\/strong>et de <strong>bois humide<\/strong> mais sans que cela ne soit de trop.
